Inspiration from Paris...

Hot summer evenings, sitting outside a cafe or bar with a glass of wine... watching the world go by. A lovely way to wind down after a long day at the office. Also it's a great opportunity to catch up on a good book. I wanted to share three books I have recently bought that all have one thing in common.... Paris.

Anyone that knows me knows I adore Paris, the people, food, wine, architecture, bars, shopping.. the atmosphere! I love it. though one thing I love reading about is about the style and food!

Above is a few books I have recently read that I really enjoyed.....

Parisian Chic is written by celebrity model Ines de La Fressange and shares the well-kept secrets of how Parisian women maintain effortless glamour and timeless allure. Ines de La Fressange Frances icon of chic shares her personal tips for living with style and charm, gleaned from decades in the fashion industry. She offers specific pointers on how to dress like a Parisian, including how to mix affordable basics with high-fashion touches, and how to accessorise.

Her step-by-step dos and don'ts are accompanied by fashion photography, and the book is personalized with her charming drawings. Ines also shares how to bring Parisian chic into your home, and how to insert your signature style into any space.....even the office. Complete with her favourite addresses for finding the ultimate fashion and decorating items, this is a must have for any woman who wants to add a touch of Paris to her own style.

I love this book! Fashion writers Isabelle Thomas and Frederique Veysett explain the je nais se quoi of French style in this cute little book 'Paris Street Style' - through interviews and witty quotes, renowned experts on French style, fashion stylists, editors, boutique owners and designers tell us all there is to know about the French fashion and elegance.

The authors talk through the essential items that everyone should own: the trench coat; the well-cut jeans; the leather jacket; ballet flat and  how the right accessories can make all the difference - which, to be honest, many of us will already know, but it's nice to have this reinforced and in such an attractive way.

Starring both celebrities and anonymous women met in the streets, with an abundance of  hand drawn illustrations and Veysett's striking photos, I would say that 'Paris Street Style' is the inspirational fashion bible that will help you, no matter where you are from, develop an everyday style of timeless glamour!

This little book is adorable...Almanac, Ladurée shares their lifestyle tips and secrets, day The last book I have bught recently is a bit more traditional, but ever so stylish! I have loved Ladurée since I visited Paris 10 years ago. with its pastel colours, silver service and elegant pastries, the atmosphere and food have always been something I wanted to recreate. With beautiful illustrations and over 100 quotes and sayings for each month.. it really is a elegant little book to have in a kitchen.

What makes it more than just a tip book is that it includes 30 simple sweet and savoury Ladurée recipes, More than 200 tips for cooking, table decoration, interior decoration, beauty and lifestyle... helping you become a real Parisian! There are three other books in the Ladurée series that I really like... though I think I might try and master these recipes before I move on to more challenging French cooking.

Right off now to cook a Sunday roast! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday afternoon.
