River Island launch the Chelsea Girl Pop-up-shop

When I mention River Island to my mum, she often comments about the store being really 'hip and cool' when she was in her early twenties, when it was known as 'Chelsea Girl'. Offering fashionable clothing to people through the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's, before evolving into River Island in 1988. But the good news is.. Chelsea girl is back on the high street.

The Chelsea Girl collection launches in selected stores and online on 24 March and is bringing back a very 70's feel collection containing affordable shorts, wide leg trousers, lace dresses, printed maxi dresses decorated with floral and geometric prints and crop t-shirts featuring the Chelsea Girl logo.

The new Chelsea Girl range was designed by National College of Art & Design graduate, Lucy Moller. Lucy joined the team after winning a design room internship at River Island in 2006 and created the new Chelsea Girl designs with guidance from River Island's Brand Director, Farida Kaikobad, who worked on original Chelsea Girl designs in the 1980's. To celebrate the launch of a new Chelsea girl collection, Selfridges & Co  are hosting an exclusive Chelsea Girl pop-up shop from the 24th March - 8th April, offering an exclusive selection of the Chelsea collection. In addition to offering clothing and accessories the pop-up-stores which contains a very cool photo booth where you and your friends can get photograph for free! Make sure you pop down as the collection is awesome!
