Black Swan rustled my feathers....

I am not sure if it was seeing Black Swan at the weekend or clocking Kara Tointon looking amazing on the February cover of Company magazine, but feathers have really grabbed my attention and they are going to be hot for s/s 2011. Paris Fashion Week s/s 2011 collections last year got me enchanted with this trend. Chanel blew me away with a beautiful light apricot ostrich feather coat that stole the show and was mimicked by other designers showing that week. Over this side of the water Alexander McQueen (new lady at the helm, Sarah Burton took the reigns on the collection) didn't disappoint as the collection featured an exquisite dress in light grey that literally took my breath away.

My take on the trend is to (like Kara) opt for small amounts of feathers and go for a skirt in light pink or even a dark evening top with feather caped sleeves.. its your choice on how you incorporate feathers into your style. Its just a fabulous material that can instantly make you feel feminine and chic... just try and go for a swan queen rather than looking like Big-Bird.
